Date: 13 November 2025
Location: Closed meeting (hybrid/remote participation)
Organisers: European Commission (DG HOME), under the EU Internet Forum (EUIF) framework
The EU Internet Forum (EUIF), launched in 2015 and led by the European Commission, brings together EU Member States, law enforcement (notably Europol’s EU IRU), tech companies, and selected experts/research projects to enhance voluntary cooperation in detecting and removing terrorist and violent extremist content online, as a complement to the Terrorist Content Online Regulation.
In the “Tech-enabled solutions” session of this closed technical meeting focused on threats in gaming ecosystems, the GEMS Project was invited to contribute.
GEMS representatives presented the Horizon Europe-funded project, its main research findings on extremist and violent extremist exploitation of gaming and gaming-adjacent spaces, and explained the functioning of the Watchtower AI moderation tool, including a recorded practical usage scenario.
