The GEMS Project was invited to present at a closed Trust & Safety meeting organised by Video Games Europe, the leading trade body representing major European video game publishers and national associations.

Representatives from the GEMS consortium introduced the Horizon Europe-funded project, its core objectives, and key research findings on extremist exploitation of gaming platforms and adjacent virtual communities. A detailed overview of the Watchtower tool was provided, highlighting its real-time detection and alerting capabilities designed to support both law enforcement and industry moderators in preventing harm.

The presentation was aimed at identifying on potential avenues for future collaboration between the GEMS consortium and VGE members, focusing on tool integration, information-sharing, and joint efforts to counter extremist narratives in gaming environments.

The GEMS team valued the opportunity to engage directly with industry trust & safety experts and looks forward to exploring concrete next steps in this promising partnership.
